Imagine a world with swim-ready children.

For thousands of people, this is their reality.

Did you know that Arizona State is listed within the top 10 states with the highest drowning incidents?

Drowning remains a leading cause of accidental death among children worldwide. More children between the ages of 1 and 4 die from drowning than any other cause of death. For kids between the age of 5 and 14, drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death; death from motor vehicle crashes is the first. In the United States, there are approximately 4000 fatal accidental drownings a year; that equates to nearly 11 death per day.

That might not seem quite a lot, however there are over 8000 non-fatal drownings a year as well. That is around 22 nonfatal drownings a day. Those may not have resulted in death, but nonfatal drownings can cause significant brain damage and long-term health problems on top of the costly hospital stays. In our community, many children lack access to affordable swimming lessons or swimming facilities, which puts them at a higher risk of drowning. This is a pressing issue that needs immediate attention and action.
